INITIAL CONSULTATION

Advanced Optical Analysis

Brusco Vision has a talented team of the most caring, patient, and well-trained people in the industry to carefully walk you through the process of vision correction, which starts with our comprehensive initial consultation.

Each and every successful vision correction procedure at Brusco Vision relies upon a highly-structured and Advanced Necessary Ocular and Vision Analysis (ANOVA). At your first visit with us, you will be carefully guided through this easy and completely painless process. This panel of the most advanced and proven diagnostic tests available today is one of the many reasons why Brusco Vision is truly a one-of-a-kind facility. Congratulations, this is your first and most critical stride towards visual freedom from glasses, contacts, and readers.

More technology and better equipment.

Brusco Vision is committed to an investment in its patients, outcomes, and technology. Unlike many other refractive centers, we do much more than a quick “LASIK screening” for one or two procedures. Instead, we have seven cutting-edge diagnostic technologies that evaluate and map every aspect of your eye. These tests help provide a three-dimensional visualization and analysis of the entire ocular and optical system. They check your overall eye health and look for potential problems to surgery such as macular degeneration, retinal tears, glaucoma, and cataracts. Our technologies also provide us with the information to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for LASIK or any of its five other other modern variations: custom lens replacement (CLR), SMILE, Visian ICL, ASA PRK, or refractive cataract surgery.

What should I expect at my initial consultation?

At Brusco Vision in Washington DC and the DMV, your ANOVA is a 90 minute experience where you are our only focus. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by one of our medical technicians who will accompany you throughout your visit. We will explain what is happening and answer any questions you have along the way as we walk you through your tests. None of the tests are painful or uncomfortable – in fact, the devices are similar to cameras, each taking a picture from a different point of view. These tests give the team at Brusco Vision valuable information to determine your candidacy and help us figure out the best plan for you. The more information we can obtain, the more accurate the results we can achieve with one of our six types of LASIK.

What Comes Next...

After the diagnostic portion of the consultation, you will meet with Dr. Brusco. He will then personally take additional measurements (the “one-or-two” test) to fine-tune your refraction and assess the overall health and status of your eyes. He will review your results and together you will have a comfortable, no-pressure discussion on whether LASIK can help you. Like fingerprints, every eye is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution at Brusco Vision. We do not attempt to shoe-horn everyone down the path of a single refractive procedure. Instead, we aim for a truly custom experience. If you are a good candidate, Dr. Brusco will talk about which procedure can give you the best results, based on your situation and unique eyes.
